A couple of Firsts

Evolet getting caught with the remote with a camera. She loves to grab the remotes, phones or anything she can get her hands on.
Just a cute picture of Evolet.

So it has been a while so here are a few cute pictures of Evolet with a few firsts.

Here is Evolet riding in here first shopping cart without her baby carrier at Hobby Lobby.

On the right is Evolet riding in her first shopping cart at Target. She even matched the basket. Doesn't she look excited!

This is a video of Evolet's first pickle. I guarantee nothing of the quality as it was taken on my still photo camera and I was more concerned about her not choking on the pickle than getting a good shot.

Moved to Texas

So were down in Texas now. Things are going well. We're staying with Neal's parents while we wait for our truck to arrive with all our stuff. Should be sometime this week. I'll keep working on the post and try to keep it updated.

All done! We Graduated! :D

Finally, our little gangster got to crash after a long but good week.

Neal's parents, Jeff and Emma came to see us graduate and watched Evolet. Evolet liked the clapping so much during Commencement that her Grandpa Minson had to take her out into the hall. Then she entertained the ushers with her singing.

So Neal and I are officially graduated. Or at least I am and Neal walked. He'll be finished once he completes an internship. We had Convocation in the Marriott Center on Thursday, April 22, where D. Todd Christofferson of the Twelve Apostles was the main speaker. Then, Friday, April 23 we had Commencement in the De Jong Concert Hall in the HFAC, where we walked across the stage to receive our sample diplomas.

Having Evolet Home

So I realized after doing my first make up post why I have not been doing this. It's because technology and me do not always agree and it takes a lot of time to get the page how I want. I am sure I will get better though. Here is one of our favorites from the hospital before she was able to come home. Neal and I both put it as our desktops because it was the first picture we got with her eyes open.
She spent her first Christmas at her Great Grandma and Grandpa Minsons and New Years there too. She has gone from taking half formula to almost all breastfeeding with only a few exceptions. Unfortunately I did lose my camera in January so have not taken many new pictures, except by other people. However, Neal gave me my Easter/ Mother's Day present early which was a new camera, so we are excited to use it. So far Evolet is more interactive, has rolled over from her tummy to her back, sleeps in her pack n' play well by herself, and has even had her first laugh. We are enjoying her more and more as we get more sleep!

Catching up

Then Grandma Ruby came to visit, and she her grandchild. We gave Evolet her first sponge bath, and she DID NOT like it. She has done really well since. Some other random pictures of her in our monstrous bean bag and cutie close ups of her.

So we've missed a few years between our first post to this one and I hope to make up for it a little bit. We'll go ahead and just pick up with the events that brought Evolet Makayla into our lives with a few pictures. So we have my belly at 30 weeks and Neal's belly, and then Evolet was born at 33 weeks, a little impatient to get into this world so she came on October 25, 2009 instead of in December. There she is with mom and dad. She was so tiny at 4 lbs 10 oz. and 16 3/4 in long. But she was pretty healthy and only had to spend 2 weeks in the NICU.
